A struggle and foot chase that began when a Tyler, Texas business owner caught a man stealing from a vehicle September 28, 2011, ended with the businessman receiving medical attention and the crook being handcuffed and transported to jail.

Tyler Police Public Information Officer Don Martin said officers responded to a call of a reported burglary in progress at Preferred Home Medical at 805 N. Glenwood Ave., Tyler, at about 11:40 a.m. He added that as the circumstances unfolded, the alleged offenses became more serious.

"It began as an auto burglary, but during the chase, the suspect and the victim fought several times and the suspect threw concrete blocks and hit the victim with a tree branch," he said.

Martin said 26-year-old Terrance Cuba was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and burglary of a vehicle.
