This is a film from Russia 1976, not exactly the same as the Hans Christian Anderson story, but MUCH more faithful than the Disney. This is my edited version with music by Ennio Morricone from a 1971 violent Italian Giallo called "Giornata nera per l'ariete" or The Fifth Cord, which I think epitomizes the heart that Anderson intended, with a bitter sweet ending and the search for the human soul. The full version of this Russian film is a musical and somewhat messes up the story, but I edited it to be a bit truer to the book. Sincerely, Huston Huddleston
