A pair of barn swallows made a nest under the beach house we were visiting in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The nest was full of eggs which they protected through an elaborate and almost choreographed flight patterns. I attached my GoPro to the pole near the nest with the hope they would land on the nest but it kept them away so I only left it for a few minutes to minimize the disruption. During that time I captured some great video of their flight including some amazing shots of their wing flapping while they hovered in place. I shot at 120 frames per second so I was able to slow it down quite a bit. Too bad the bright sun was directly behind as some of the shots are washed out.
