Healthy snacking for healthy teeth

Limit snacks that contain starches and sugar to protect your teeth. When sugars and starches combine with bacteria in your mouth, they create an acidic environment. Over time, this acid can eat away at your teeth and lead to cavities and tooth decay.

Choose healthy snacks like apples, plain yogurt, cheese, and raw almonds. Raw almonds, yogurt, and cheese help protect your tooth enamel and make your teeth stronger. In addition, crunchy fruits and vegetables have a high water content that stimulates saliva. Saliva helps to wash away food particles and acid.

Make sure to visit your dentist regularly and consult with him/her about any oral health questions.
