Increasingly as a result of corrupt politicians, the legalized solutions to problems is like a thirty person drinking saltwater. The impending and immediate effect appears to be a good solution but overtime the reality of drinking saltwater comes back to haunt the person thirsting for solutions to the problems of his life. Examples of saltwater politics are the promises of privatization which turn out to be legalizing private monopolies to price-gouge gullible voters, college savings plans which drive up the cost for the middle-class, etc.
