Trollstigen has been a magnet to tourists since 1936. The 11 hairpin turns wind their way nearly 3000 feet up the mountain, with the peaks Bispen, Kongen and Dronninga looming overhead, Some places the road is cut into the rock face, and other places it is built on natural foundations. In 2012 RV 63 will become Trollstigen National Tourist road with new viewpoints, better safety and beatiful architecture of the highest international quality. Basejumpers often jump off these mountains. Trollstigen is closed during winter and usually opens at the end of May.
