This is Book Two. Book One recounts one hundred and thirty-eight days through Italy, Greece, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt. Book Three follows the family through Southeast Asia - Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos - and their return home where the writer, who is a visual artist, prepares for an art exhibition full of work inspired by their travels.
