Who better to tackle that tubby tenor from the Go Compare ads than Team GB boss and former lionhearted full-back Stuart Pearce? Football's favourite Psycho follows Sue Barker and her bazooka as the latest celebrity to have a go at 'Saving The Nation' from the vocals of wobbly warbler Gio Compario.
The ad sets a familiar scene. A young couple, innocently going about their business, are ambushed by the maddening minstrel who starts belting out his familiar tune. In a park across the road, our friendly, neighbourhood Psycho is out for a walk when he hears the song that has left cats scrambling for cover. Without ruining the surprise, Pearce's solution involves a football and the stout soloist is left paying a painful penalty.
