Don't trust a priest that doesn't wear the cassock.

Think of the good work he could have done with that money. Now there are people who could have benefitted from that enormously. It's not Father Greg you are cold shouldering here. It is the gang member whose life needs transformation. That unknown person or persons are the ones who will suffer, not Father Greg. They will suffer, their families, and their children. Disagree with Father Greg if you like, but don't take it out on people who need his help.
Look, like it or not, part of Father Greg's disposition is to be *compassionate*. It's why he does the work that he does so well. I think this is a mistake not to give this organization support because, in the definition of it, it is about gang intervention. It's also about inclusion of former gang members into the broader scope of society. Disagree with him if you like about other things, but his proven record in bringing gang members back to love, family, and God is something amazing.
God created nature for a specific purpose, and when we act in opposition to the natural purpose, we act against God. God doe not hate gays, nor does the church "hate" gays, but the Church supports an understanding of marriage that co-operates with nature.
Amen to what Fr Greg says. This has been my experience in ministry also. I'm glad there are people like Fr Greg around who have the courage to speak honestly and openly. I know lots of priest who agree with him secretly but would never say it openly for fear of persecution from "the church."

Well said Father Greg, spoken like a true pastor. Fr. Geoffrey Farrow

This is a priest? Why didn't he just become a social worker? He clearly isn't interested in following the Church's teaching. This is more Vatican II church of nice. Jesus said Marriage is between a man and a woman: Mt 19:4-5: "Who answering, said to them: Have ye not read, that he who made man from the beginning, Made them male and female? And he said: For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they two shall be in one flesh."
Tom Hogan
Don't go there father. I once loved you.
