This is one of my "Then and Now" photographs created as a video using the new HD option now available on YouTube. This allows widescreen high quality playback but please click on the "Watch in HD" link below the video then click the Fullscreen icon otherwise you won't see the quality.
It should have a screen resolution of at least 1280x720 pixels otherwise you are not seeing all the image pixels.
Oh and a WideScreen montor will help too ! Try it on your TV, looks great on a 32" TV via HDMI cable.

This particular Then and now is of the Baseball Ground (aka The BBG), the original home of Derby County until they moved to Pride Park.

The view is of the Normanton Stand as seen from Vulcan street where it meets Shaftesbury Crescent.

The Baseball Hotel used to be located just to the right of this shot on the corner. It was demolished in June 1994, today this has some modern housing built on it.

The first photograph I took on 16th July 2003 and the second photograph I took from the very same place on 21st January 2005. This is a high accuracy lined up photograph pair, This process has taken me many years to perfect but making the two images line up exactly makes all the difference.
Both photographs were taken hand held so taking the 2nd photograph requires a lot of moving your position around while holding a print of the original image.

Notice how the middle lampost has been knocked slightly and the the one on the far right of the shot has actually been swivelled around so its facing the other way!

I visited this same location on 21st December 2008 and its still looks the same, nothing built on it yet !!
There are just a few new homes built by Strata along Vulcan Street and Shaftesbury Crescent.

If you liked this "then and now" then you may like my then and now section on my website where I have created page after page of them for you to enjoy..

Rather strangely my Then and now section is actually used in hundreds of schools as part of the History curriculum.

I created the royalty-free music using Sony Cinescore using Slow Motion Bloom with the simple Arp and Synth style.

I noticed that all those buildings near Ewart Chain have now been demolished in November/December 2008 too.
