This performance was a partial freestyle for an in-house show at the studio that I train at--Westlake Dance Center in North Seattle (WDCIH=Westlake Dance Center In-House). The woman you hear in the beginning is Sheri, a very close friend, mentor, teacher, and the owner of the studio. She is most definitely an inspiration to me and is a big force in my drive to improve in dance.

Some background on the poems and the song:
The idea of taking Anis Mojgani's poems and sticking the "Time" track behind it is not my original idea. A user named "LionKingMusic" was who inspired me to create a mix of Mojgani's "Shake the Dust" and "Here Am I" poem after hearing his compilation of Anis set to this track.

I originally found Anis a couple of years ago and found both of these poems moving me to tears--they hit me in a place that was so deep that I couldn't really even comprehend where the tears where coming from. Even today and after all the times I've listened to these poems, they continue to hit me really hard. I highly suggest that you look him up; he is most definitely an inspiration to me as well.

I dedicate this piece to Loryn Anderson--I am on my way to making it up to you.
