Short Summary

SUPER CAT is a new all ages friendly superhero adventure comic. It follows the exploits of a short, overweight, heroic alley cat named, of course, Super Cat and his caretaker the ever trustworty Professor as they battle crime and evil everywhere. Each issue of SUPER CAT comes jam packed with one long "feature" story written by Justin Mitchiner with art by Jason Contini; two short "back-up" stories, also written by Justin Mitchiner but these are drawn by Chris Hegland and Neil Basconcillo; AND at least one activity page so that everyone can interact with, and be a part of, the Super Cat story.

What We Need & What You Get

We have already completed TWO issues of SUPER CAT. There is a preview issue entittled SUPER CAT #0.1 SPECIAL POINT ONE JUMP ON ISSUE and we are just now releasing SUPER CAT #1 which is the first full issue of our new book. Issue #1 is also almost twice as long as our regular issues will be and features TWO "feature" stories, THREE "back-up" stories and TWO activity pages.

Since we are in full swing of getting our book done and printed (we're well into working on issue #2 now in fact) what we need help with is promotion. With your donation, we will be able to print promotional postcards, small posters, and other such promotional material. We will also be able to print extra copies of our first issue to include in press kits that will be sent out to comic shops all across the country. So, in a way, you'll helping us get our book into a comic shop near you!

We also enjoy meeting with fans and collectors and so some of your donations will help us make special appearances at comic shops for signings and meet-and-greets. In fact we're planning on being at the Wizard World Convention in Chicago this August to meet people and some of your donations will help us print the free giveaways that we have planned to bring with us for that apppearance.

In return for your donation we have many cool gifts ready to be sent out to you. Everything from the actuall comic itself to exclusive trading cards to original art...EVEN an exclusive, custom made, hand painted, Super Cat action figure!

The Impact

Super Cat is a project that has been in the works for the last two years, although you could say that we have been working on this book since 1987...in a manner of speaking. That was the year that artist Jason Contini first created Super Cat. In 2008, as Contini began to work on the comic book LEGACIES END, he joked with the writer of that book, Nicholas J. Hearne, that he would find a way to work Super Cat into this very serious super hero mythology. The jokes continued this way untill it was decided that maybe doing an actuall Super Cat book wouldn't be such a bad idea. Justin Mitchiner came on board to take the writing reigns and we were off. So this book means a lot to us. We are not looking to take the world by storm here. We simply have had an absolute blast plotting out the first two years worth of Super Cat stories and we just really want to share them with everyone and hope that they have the same fun with Super Cat that we have had.
