Alkan's four unpblished songs were written for his pupil Zena de Mansouroff in the 1850s, There are three 'Anciennes melodies de la synagogue': 'Adon Olam', 'Terakhem Tsiyon' and 'B'tseit Yisroel' (this last orignially written for pedal piano solo). In addition there is a setting in Latin of Psalm 42 ('As pants the hart'). In this performance - by Klara Kolonits, accompanied by Danel Dinyes at the 2013 Indian Sumer in Levoca Festival - the Psalm setting is placed after 'Adon Olam' and before the other two Hebrew settings.
