This time I create a complex geometry (aka land pattern) for a cheap consumer connector. The video contains annotations and is without audio.
Addendum 1: I forgot to place top/bottom keepout areas around the unplated slots. This is not strictly necessary, but it will aid routing by keeping traces and areafills away from the slot.
Addendum 1: This geometry is only suitable for 1 and 2 layer layouts. While PCB Elegance 3.52 has the concept of an inner pad (ie. a pad that is copied to all inner layers, however many there may be), they may be circle pads only. Squares/rectangle inner pads are not supported. The workaround for 4+ layer PCBs with geometries that have slots is to increase the amount of layers in the geometry, and copy the pads/keepouts to all the inner layers.
