This is a Danish Model 1867 license built Remington rolling block rifle. It is chambered for the 11.4 x 51R cartridge, which is similar to the .45-70. Cases were made from .45-70 brass with a turn of electrical tape at the base to center the round in the chamber and firing with a .405 grain .458 bullet and 9 grains of Unique. The cases expand to fit the chamber and thereafter are neck sized only. The rifle arrived with the buttstock severely broken in shipment, and it was repaired very nicely by Michael McBride.
