My second attempt at canning meat went well - found lean ground beef on sale for $2.15/lb and took advantage (2 qts, 5 pints plus enough to make a shepard's pie for dinner tonight). I did have one lid that didn't seal, so it is in the fridge and will be on the menu one night this week. My pressure canner was almost totally dry when they finished...is that normal or should I have added even more water?? I used about 2 qts of water in it and was canning for 90 min at 10 lbs pressure. You get a quick peek at my strawberry jam I made this morning too...no video for it though (the battery was dead in my camera!)
