This is from a public meeting held on the evening of April 8, 2015 at the Moriah Central School auditorium. The Mineville Energy Storage Project FERC Project No. 12635 was the subject of discussion. Moriah Hydro Corp. hopes to build a gigantic, 260 megawatt pumped storage hydroelectric facility in Mineville New York. Explained is the utilization of a series of abandoned, interconnected iron mines to create a closed system subterranean hydroelectric storage facility. James A. Besha, Sr. President of Albany Engineering Corporation, will present the Mineville Energy Storage Project and discuss the many hurdles in bringing the $265 million dollar project project to fruition, this project concept was developed in 1990. Speakers also include Mr. Thomas Scozzafava, supervisor of the Town of Moriah.
