I built a diy homemade camera slider dolly (roller dolly) last week and decided to try it out. I used a Canon T2i DSLR. On one of my lenses I had forgotten to turn on the Image Stabilization.
Overall I'm really happy with the results. A few shots are a bit bumpy, so I think a good polishing on the stainless steel rods will help with that. The head I'm using (a no-name from amazon.com) doesn't allow me to smoothly pan during movement, so I might swap it out with a Bogen from one of my sticks.
I used late afternoon/early evening spill from the windows (changing throughout the video). The overhead chandelier was on, casting incandescent light in addition to a 160 LED (daylight) portable light which was moved throughout the shooting process to supplement and stylize the lighting.
