James Donlon performing his original mime piece: "Fish" - in 1979. ----- James Donlon has been performing and teaching mime, clown and physical theater internationally since 1970. He has performed with Robert Shields, John Gilkey, and was the first American clown to perform in Switzerland's Teatro Dimitri. He has taught in many international drama schools including ACT (The American Conservatory Theater), The Yale School of Drama, The University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Ringling Bros Clown College (students included Bill Irwin and Barry Lubin.) He has been a film-movement coach for Oscar Winners Javier Bardem, Kathy Bates, Frances McDormand; and David Strathairn, Benjamin Bratt.
In 2009, he founded (with Leonard Pitt) the Flying Actor Studio - a physical theater conservatory in San Francisco, California. www.flyingactorstudio.com
