This week, an Indian dish to whet your appetite... dal! This is the dish of my youth, made by my mum on a weekly basis. You'll need some special ingredients, so take a trip to your Indian grocer and get: two types of lentils (masoor and toor aka red and yellow), turmeric powder, asfoetida (hing), black mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves.
