VICTORIA - The $348.6-million Patient Care Centre At Royal Jubilee Hospital opened it's door to the public today on time and on budget; bringing a new standard of care for all Vancouver Island families.

Unlike the old Jubilee, the new rooms are more private, equipped with personal bathrooms, the colors on the walls are therapeutic and every room has a view. Visitor hours have also been extended to around the clock making it easier for family and friends to support loved ones in times of need.

All patient rooms are easily adaptable to different levels of care, and use the highest standards in infection prevention and control. The Patient Care Centre is also designed to be a centre of excellence in elder care.

Along with the state of the art indoor amenities, several gardens and green space has been set aside for patients to enjoy outside the Hospital walls.
