Adas Israel Congregation, the oldest and largest Conservative Synagogue in Washington, DC, announces the October 14 launch of a historic renovation project for its landmark midcentury building, led by renowned architect Hugh Hardy and H3 Collaboration Architecture. The transformation of four major worship and activity spaces is the keystone of Adas Israel's "Vision of Renewal." This Vision initiative will strengthen the 143 year old institution's capacity to meet its membership's diverse spiritual, intellectual, and social needs and serve the broader Jewish community.

Adas Israel seeks to create a unique, shared space where we can discover what it means to be human and to be part of a sacred community. Through the medium of Judaism, we foster moments that celebrate the joy and wonder ... of being alive ... of being connected to the world ... of feeling amazed by life ... of being awed by God ... of finding intimacy & connection in the presence of each other. In that joy and wonder, we seek to travel the path of sacred action, kindness, and repairing the world.
