Kentucky's 2012 Elementary School Teacher of the year, Elizabeth Fuller has transformed many struggling children into enthusiastic readers. She has taught reading and writing to third graders at Atkinson Elementary. She was a classroom teacher for five years before becoming demonstration site teacher.

Through the Atkinson demonstration site project, which started with her, she has transformed many struggling children into enthusiastic readers. Mostly working with the neediest students of the school, she has gained an innate ability to connect and bring the best out of every child. Her success has led the project to be replicated in many other schools around the state. She is also a recipient of Louisville Foundation grant and a 2011 Gheens Innovation and Outstanding Young Educator awards nominee.

"I love my school and working with my kids. It's an incredible feeling to watch them grow and be successful and do things that no one thought they would be able to do."
