New fires are reported in California as wind speeds increase to dangerous levels, in a potentially historic high wind fire weather event. Get the latest in our LIVE CALIFORNIA FIRES COVERAGE.
Diablo winds are currently moving into northern and central California and gusts are forecast to reach 80 mph in some areas. These high winds and very dry conditions mean fires can explode in size, presenting an extreme danger. PG&E has nearly completed its power shutoff to 2.8 million people in northern and central California in the hopes of preventing its electrical equipment from starting wildfires. In Sonoma County, over 80,000 people have been ordered to evacuate near the Kincade Fire, out of fear the high winds could cause the fire to rapidly spread. In this interactive live stream, host Steve Lookner brings you the latest updates on the California fires, including the newest reports of wind speeds, and he'll also read your comments and questions on the air!
