Sarah Kim, co-founder of The Ridge Report, stepped to the mic to host the student-produced newscast for the first - and last - time as an undergraduate at Niagara University. The Denver, Colo. native returned home this week after graduating with a degree in communication studies, but not before anchoring the fifth installment of the show, which Kim and Anna Hoffmann, '12, branded as "providing campus news by students and for students."
With Kim on camera for Episode No. 5, The Ridge Report team covers an NU appearance by PostSecret creator Frank Warren; highlights of RidgeFest; TKE's Crush Cancer Week; Niagara students' participation in the Special Olympics; a full-color magazine published by The Niagara Index profiling the "20 most interesting students on campus"; and a dodgeball game pitting NU's Math Club against its Chemistry Society.
The Ridge Report, which launched its first episode on Jan. 5, 2011, endeavors to cover Niagara University topics and happenings that are of interest to students, including previews and reviews of concerts, theatre performances and sporting events as well as service learning and fundraising opportunities.
