I played Conquest on my first run (release day hype) and the second I heard it, I knew I had to do it at some point. It's so freakin' rad.
The localization team definitely took quite a few creative liberties with this game, and for lyrics, it's understandable. Japanese songs tend to be either incredibly literal (Ex: Secret Base from AnoHana) or poetic to the point that it has no meaning. (Ex: Every Shonen Anime OP)
Hitori Omou tends to lean on the literal side, given the song's canon purpose, but the Official English Lyrics make the meaning more hazy and vague. I personally feel that adds to it, but that's just my opinion.
Let's not talk about Shigure's Official English verse though. It's a little too "creative" for my liking.
Anyway, Rena Strober is a fantastic voice actress and singer, and her rendition of Dark Song carries so much power and passion. It's kinda' why I married Azura in my first Revelations run. :D
Expect a couple more Fire Emblem covers in the future. I'm planning on Light Song, and maybe one or two more.
