MPM Haiti (www.mpmhaiti.org) has been working in Haiti since 2005 pairing needy students with educational sponsors, building a home for a family of 7, and now engaging women in small business opportunity through microcredit loans. In June 2010, Christen Parker, Chair and Executive Director of MPM Haiti, drove through Port-au-Prince to witness the status of the capital and surrounding area 6 months after the devastating earthquakes. Haitians still seem to be among the strongest human beings we've ever been among. Life is happening amid the rubble, under tents, as best it can. Trash covers the streets and rivers. People deserve more. We saw Port-au-Prince, Leogane, and TiGwav on our way to the South, in and around Les Cayes, where we have been working since January 2005. This footage is our first look since the quake (right after the quake we were in medical tents, but could not see the city). The music is provided by friends in Les Cayes. Thank you for watching, for reading, for keeping Haiti in your heart. Help us empower people to have the opportunities they need and want for themselves and their families - www.mpmhaiti.org
