On Wednesday, June 8, city officials gathered at the Time Warner Center as part of a panel discussion titled SETTING THE DIGITAL STANDARD: OPEN GOVERNMENT IN NYC. The panel featured Seth Pinsky, President of NYC EDC, Carole Post, Commissioner of the New York City Department of Technology and Telecommunications, Adam Sharp, Manager of Government and Political Partnerships at Twitter, and Rachel Sterne, Chief Digital Officer, Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment. The panel was moderated by Jessi Hempel from Fortune, and featured remarks by Stephen Goldsmith, Deputy Mayor for Operations. We interviewed some of these panelists before the event began, and will have the full panel available to watch online soon. In the meantime, hear from Adam Sharp as he discusses what they're doing at the event and why New York City is a great environment for a burgeoning tech community.
