The Tower of London is not an easy site to get around for those with mobility difficulties. For those who can't manage stairs, some areas are impossible.
One way of making them more accessible is to film them as virtual tours so that people can experience the spaces without having to struggle up and down the steps.
So we approached a student film group, Crazie Productions, and commissioned them to film the spaces. On a cold February morning in 2011 we began in St Thomas's Tower at the beginning of the Medieval Palace; several weeks later we finished in the Constable Tower at the end of the east Wall Walk having filmed all the rooms and walkways in between.
