Quickly get tips on how to care for your amaryllis gift plant from Jackson & Perkins.
Your amaryllis gift plant can be expected to bloom between 6 and 12 weeks, depending on the variety.
Place it in direct sunlight for the best performance. Blooms will last longer if it's moved to a cool spot during the night. Rotate it regularly to make sure the stems don't lean toward the light source.
Keep the soil moist, but not soggy.
Next fall when leaves start to wither, stop watering and remove the old leaves. Store it at 45-55 degrees. 6 to 8 weeks before blooms are desired, return to room temperature and begin watering lightly until growth is observed, then keep the soil moist.
