Join AHDB Beef & Lamb and Dr Fiona Lovatt from Flock Health Ltd for a vet webinar on the responsible use of antibiotics at lambing time.

RUMA targets and Sheep Veterinary Society Good Practice Guidelines both indicate that it is not appropriate for all lambs to be treated routinely with antibiotics from the start of any new lambing season. Antibiotic treatments should be targeted towards high-risk individuals, following a proactive flock health plan. For some flocks and vets this may present a considerable challenge.

The webinar will include:
• Appropriate farm-level application of the RUMA antibiotic targets at lambing time
• Step-by-step guidance to ensure ‘refinement, reduction and replacement’ of antibiotics while ensuring there is no associated increase in disease or losses, particularly due to watery mouth or joint ill
• Risk assessment and measured steps appropriate to different lambing systems
• Case studies that demonstrate practical steps

After attending this webinar you will receive a presentation and meeting planner for you to use within a flock health club meeting and a shorter presentation for you to use within a larger farmer meeting as you prepare your clients for this coming lambing season.
