A video about stress, life, repetition of our actions and the confusing and magical aspect of the everyday world. This is a video about commuting into and out of Atlanta, GA. It is a tiring and stressful process. The film starts in the forest where I live, then enters into the world of traffic and sunlight. The self is lost into the world of cars and noise. The second half is the return home at night. Everything is reduced to light forms and blurs. Exhausted from a long day, the journey home is sometimes a battle against sleep. The night world is dream like and magical.
This was part of my MFA thesis show at Georgia State University. It took months to shoot and edit. It is not about one days driving, but more about doing the same thing over years.
