Both Republican candidates for Connecticut's 2nd District Representative hosted gatherings at their respective campaign headquarters on Saturday, June 23, 2012.
Madison's Daria Novak, who was the 2010 Republican Convention endorsed candidate, having lost in a primary runoff, qualified for the 2012 primary to be held on August 14.
East Lyme's Paul Formica, although entering the race only four days before the May 18 Republican Convention, received the GOP endorsement at the Convention. Both candidates seek to win the August 14 primary, and the Republican nomination to oppose incumbent Democrat, Joe Courtney, on November 6.
We attended a morning campaign event at Daria Novak's Madison headquarters and then proceeded to Paul Formica's East Lyme headquarters where an early afternoon campaign headquarters grand opening was underway.
Each candidate was asked the identical eight questions. A previously scheduled forum at the Waterford Library hosted by the Waterford Tea Party was canceled several days earlier.
