Millions of people around the world celebrate Halloween. Majority of people see Halloween as a time for donning costumes, a time of fun, theme parties, and trick-or-treating.

Halloween falls on the Celtic calendar’s last day, on October 31st, which used to be a pagan holiday in honor of the dead. This is the day before All Saints Day on November 1st, during which Christians attempted to convert pagans.

There are several versions of Halloween’s origins and customs, however, some remain consistent. Various cultures view it differently, but traditional practices stay the same. Halloween can be traced to the Druids who celebrated Samhain feast in honor of the dead. It also signified the end of summer and the festival was a harvest festival to mark the end and the beginning of the Celtic year.

During this period the Celts believed that the spirits of the dead roamed the villages and streets. All spirits were not thought to be friendly and in order to pacify evil, treat and gifts were left out. It was also done to ensure that the following year’s crops are blessed and plentiful. This is where the custom of trick-or-treating comes from.

The anticipation to Halloween is something that builds up especially for families with young children and teenagers. Little ones want to go trick-or-treating and obviously parents get involved. Teenagers want to go to Halloween theme parties and you as adult are enticed by the excitement. You also might have been one of the children, while growing up, got used to the customary Halloween festivities. It simply does not make sense, not to have an annual Halloween party; it would be as if someone tells you, not to celebrate Christmas or your birthday.

The fun in planning the Halloween party, or being invited to a party, regardless of how old you are, is something always worth looking forward to, especially planning what to wear. You have the opportunity to break out of your mold and live in a world of make-believe, for one fun night. If you are not into weird, outlandish and freaky costumes or your husband is not, take a look at the costume we discuss below.

A Bavarian Guy Costume might not land you the witch of the evening, but you sure will have comfortable fun wearing one. It is the ideal Halloween costume for men who are not quite into the idea for a serious make-over, with a scream suit and mask, the entire evening.

Not wearing a Halloween costume especially when invited to a theme party, or hosting a theme party yourself, would really make you the odd one out. You do not want to be a party-pooper do you?

Wearing a Bavarian Guy Costume and being part of the crowd will set the mood, not only making you feel and experience the excitement, but participating in the fun and festivities. You have the added advantage of arriving at the party with a beer in hand.

Donning this costume, you could picture yourself at the Munich Oktoberfest, drinking large beers, reveling the companionship of fellow beer drinkers, with a jovial atmosphere and noise. Brilliant idea, just a pity you are thousands of miles away from Munich, this is where you have the opportunity to be in two places at once; Your Halloween theme party and part of the crowd, while pretending to be throwing back a couple of large one’s at the Oktoberfest.

No other time is as good as a Halloween party to wear your Bavarian guy costume complete with leather shorts (lederhosen), although it is shorts, not trousers. Suspenders are attached to the shorts, a shirt with lace-up collar, knee-high sock and Oktoberfest hat. You will not feel ridiculous, overdressed, under-dressed, yet dashing and handsome and no restrictions with uncomfortable suits and costumes, ill-fitting and expensive.

A Halloween costume is often actually the type of costume you rent, whereas a Bavarian Guy Costume is purchased. This enables you to wear it on different occasions, it is your own and you do not have the added stress that you have to replace a damaged costume, which often occur with rentals.
