Bianca's gentle cavatina is, probably, the most traditional part of the whole score but it doesn't mean that it stands apart from the score. I actually find that it works well within the context of Bianca's character: she is a lovely person and her cavatina shows it brilliantly. The whole scene is actually longer but I decided to cut a transitional chorus between cantabile and cabaletta and a small prelude which precedes the opening chorus to keep the upload under 11 minutes. The opening chorus, celebrating Bianca's virtue, isn't particularly noteworthy but it is done very professionally on the composer's part. The cantabile, with a prominent part for solo flute, is an echo of Viscardo's cavatina in the introduction, as it is also sung about a love long lost (Viscardo is Bianca's lover). The following cabaletta is again traditional but charming and melodiously interesting. Moreover, it's interesting that the scene uses a similar bass line for both the opening chorus and Bianca's cabaletta, again forming a dramatic unity.

The mezzo Martine Olmeda makes quite a lot of this beautiful cavatina. Enjoy :)!
