As 2009 Southern Resistance Fighter of the Year, Jeremy Kichler, outlines, growers in the central part of Georgia are in need of rain. Wheat harvest has begun, but rain is needed to keep favorable planting conditions for other crops and to activate the residual herbicides that have been applied. Additionally, Palmer amaranth and spiderwort are already causing problems in many fields.
