Herpetologist Andrew Gray shows calling male, nest and tadpoles of the Ecuadorian frog, Leptodactylus stenodema. It lays its eggs within foamy nests and the tadpoles maintain the nest by blowing bubbles until the rains come whilst they develop. Here the male is calling, the nest is discovered, and tadploes can be clearly seen blowing bubbles to maintain the foam. Credit: Morley Ried for camera work.
