Louis Armstrong and the All Stars 1950 I Surrender Dear: studio recording on April 26-27 1950, New York NY but released much latter as "Decca Studio Recordings Vol 1 1950." I Surrender Dear is a song composed by Harry Barris with lyrics by Gordon Clifford. It was first performed by Bing Crosby in the film I Surrender Dear (1931) and became his first solo hit. It has been covered by a large number of artists, making it a jazz and pop standard. The first jazz vocalist to record the song was Louis Armstrong in 1931. A great clarinet feature with Satch doing a vocal and some support. The band: Louis Armstrong Tp Voc; Barney Bigard Cl; Jack Teagarden Tb; Earl Hines Pn; Arvell Shaw Bs; Cozy Cole Dr; Velma Middleton Voc. Track 06 of 10 Submitted: ULAJAZZ
