My friend Herb Jeffries - the sole surviving member of the orchestras of Duke Ellington (1939-42), Earl Hines (1933-34), McKinney's Cotton Pickers (1929-30) will be celebrating his 100th Birthday on September 24. There will be a BIG birthday celebration in Apple Valley, Ca September 28-29). This Birthday event is open to the public - for information contact:
