ARISTA WINERY - INTERVIEW WITH MARK MCWILLIAMS
Who knew a leather artisan and a wine maker could have so much in common? As it turns out, an artisan is an artisan, whether your craft is wine or leather, it’s a level of attention to detail that others might overlook. I had a fun afternoon rediscovering Arista Winery from the perspective of the wine maker and hearing about their renewed focus in their Version 2.0. It’s a science, really, carefully farming the right grape at the right time on the right soil. They make an incredible effort to keep the wine pure, not adding sugars or acidity, but letting the natural flavor of the wine shine through. Maybe some people won’t notice (as some people don’t appreciate a well-made full grain leatherbag), but for those that do – cheers. Thanks to Mark McWilliams and Arista Winery for time well spent.
