Join me with my Special Surprise Guest, Marshmellow Fellow the Cat, as we demonstrate the difference between breathing into the Belly vs the Chest. For relaxation, Belly breathing is best, but in Pilates, we emphasize Chest breathing, using a strong contraction of the lower abdominals to help push the air out on the exhalation. For a really deep, full breath, and to develop superior breath control, try combining the two breaths together, as shown.
