George Osborne in 2007 pledging that a Tory government would not only match Labour's spending but increase it.
The Tories don't talk about it because it flies in the face of claims that they would have spent less recklessly than Labour over the past three terms. In fact, Cameron only cut this pledge once the recession was well under way.
Labour don't talk about it because it undermines claims that the nasty party are making ideological cuts.
