Captain David Harriss was the last Commanding Officer of the submarine USS BANG (SS 385) which served proudly during WWII and the Cold War. Bang was decommissioned and transferred to the Spanish navy in 1972. The submarine was renamed the Cosme Garcia (S-34) and served in the Spanish navy for another 10 years until 1982 for a total service life of 39 years. In this interview Captain Harriss shares his experiences of 28 years in the US Navy with particular emphasis on his time as Commanding Officer of BANG.
