This is perhaps one of the earliest Transformers toy commercials from 1984: any fan can point out a number of inconsistencies with the animated portion, such as Soundwave's strange light purple color and the way he pulls out and throws a (terribly small) cassette. What is he shooting at, anyway? The Autobots are behind him! Prowl's front end wasn't drawn properly, and Sideswipe's arms, back and legs are missing panels. The entire animation was obviously done on an extreme deadline.

This isn't exactly a commercial just for Soundwave and Laserbeak, but a general introduction of the Transformers toyline to the public. The commercial also has cameos for additional action figures: Mirage, Trailbreaker, Sideswipe and Jazz. The commercial ends with the classic "die punch" animation of the Hasbro logo.
