ICHEC Visualization of Met Éireann EC-EARTH climate projection data. The annual 2m temperature change with respect to the 30-year baseline (1961-1990) is presented for both the RCP4.5 (medium) and RCP8.5 (high) scenarios.

The bottom panel shows the global temperature change over land for an ensemble of EC-Earth simulations. The fact that all simulations are in general agreement provides a measure of confidence in the predictions. The blue line represents the observed temperature rise according to the CRU TS3.21 data set.

Mean global land temperatures are expected to rise by approximately 5.4°C under the pessimistic emission scenario by the end of the century.

A number of the CMIP5/IPCC AR5 EC-Earth simulations were run on the ICHEC systems.
