http://www.myopiainstitute.com At 11 years old, Ada's parents became concerned about her worsening vision. Her prescription had seen some dramatic changes over the past year. We discussed methods of myopia control and recommended fitting Ada with FDA approved Orthokeratology ( OrthoK or CRT ). Orthokeratology involves wearing a contact lens like device overnight which, when removed in the morning, provides eyeglass and contact lens free vision during waking hours and in many cases slows down or stops the progressive worsening of nearsightedness.

3 years later, during her period of greatest growth Ada's vision has completely stabilized. Her current prescription is the same as it was 3 years ago. Watch as she discusses how Orthokeratology (orthok) has improved her quality of life in general and freed her from wearing glasses while persuing her passion, swimming.

Studies have shown that Orthokeratology can, in some cases, slow down or halt progressive vision change. Check out this link for access to methods of myopia control and references to peer reviewed studies under the "Library" tab on our homepage.
