Jefferson Center is a nonprofit organization that enriches and educates diverse Western Virginia communities by producing high quality performing arts programs, by providing long and short term community space, and by providing educational outreach to thousands of young artists in the region.

In 2011, famed singer/songwriter Darrell Scott and Jefferson Center's Artistic Director Dylan Locke recognized there was an incredible lineup of talent performing at Jefferson Center during the 2011/2012 season. Together, Scott and Locke asked artists from Kathy Mattea to the Blind Boys of Alabama, if they would take a few minutes out of their schedule to record a track of the single. The result, along with voices from the community, is There's A World of Song.

"Jefferson Center and its Music Lab are one of the most impressive music education programs available in the U.S. today," said Darrell Scott. "It was important to find a way to help Music Lab grow in both education and students and I am pleased by the extraordinary group of musicians who said 'yes' when Dylan and I asked for their time and voices."

Thank you to all of the participating artists and production crews.
