"There is a cancer eating at the Imperium. With each decade it advances deeper, leaving drained, dead worlds in its wake. This horror, this abomination, has thought and purpose that functions on an unimaginable, galactic scale and all we can do is try to stop the swarms of bioengineered monsters it unleashes upon us almost by instinct. We have given the horror a name to salve our fears; we call it the Tyranid race, but if is aware of us at all it must know us only as Prey."
Inquisitor Czevak

The overwhelming hordes of the Tyranid Swarm are threat to anyone, who face them in battle.

Their hunger for killing and gathering biomass makes them unstoppable to accomplish, what they're seem to have as a objective. Even for Imperial defences.

... tyranids + necrons necrons dont need no more transport they have motherfucking cavalry

+MrMorphicus honestly, i would preffer if the tyranids hadnt been created, especially by the old ones. I dont like when an universe as vast as w40k is ties almost all the species to a single precursor one. The tyranids are much better as that extragalactic, completely alien, and incredibly horrofying "thing" that could be part of lovecraftian mythology, that just shows, that the universe beyond the galaxy is not grimdark, is pitch black, and that there might be even worse things far in the endless void.

Between the omni-death posed by the Necrons, the mindless brutatlity of the Orcs, the all-encompassing madness of the Chaos and the Dark Eldar... and now these devourers of worlds... Why the hell aren't the other factions uniting already? Imperium, Tau and Eldar need to work together to destroy even one of these threats permanently. I know why they aren't, but it is kind of infuriating lol

Yourson Isold rejoice. The eldar and imperium are working together at last.
The Mirage
Unless some shit like the Emperor being reborn happens then their best bet is just to sell whatever planets they have (that are tomb worlds) to the Necrons and in return the Necrons get to awaken their entire race, pull out the War In Heaven superweapons, Transcendant C'tan and C'tan shards and go wild on the nids.

Fear the alien...Hate the alien...Kill the alien...
Abandon all hope, the great devourer is come... prey for a quick death, or be ripped to shreds by an ocean of teeth too vast to  comprehend. All is lost...

I always had this scenario in mind: every single factions of WH40k is engaging in a massive battle, then a Tyranid Hive Fleet arrived, descended upon the battlefield. All the faction are forced into a desperate alliance to fight the Swarm. But ultimately they all failed and was devoured......... until Games Workshop comes up with a faction that is worse than Tyranids.

+724warlord They are so far that it isnt even funny. I mean, the tyranids, with this creepy music, could be a lovecraft monster.

So disapointing that there isn't a good movie yet. The w40k franchise has so many storys to tell...

usually a movie about a fictional universe suffers from either not explaining enough or too much in too litle time. W40k, with its hundreds of books on info, would suffer a lot from it. The only good way it could be done is if it was done asuming the watchers know the lore, so there is only story to tell.
Rat Satan
I dunno if wh40k movie is a good idea, we all know how movies inspired by games turned out. Don't we?

Mr. Awesome
It's kinda scary it's entirely possible if unlikely that there is something out there comparable to the Tyranids. Moral of this comment is always wear protection and get a really big gun.
Mr. Awesome
The big gun to shoot the world killing alien locusts. And condoms to prevent genestealer infection.
Eti Fari
+Mr. Awesome I don't think that it is necessarily unlikely. What are justifications for that idea, are they sensible? (no need to answer here, open question)
George Kiddle
Do people seriously still believe star craft came first? XD
