Joshua Cooper Ramo the author of "The Age of the Unthinkable: Why the New World Disorder Constantly Surprises Us and What We Can Do about It" describes this particular moment in history as an age of unthinkables, where a complete overhaul of military structures, defence and intergovernmental bodies are necessary to keep up with the changing global order, we live in.
On 4 april 2012 Dr. Stefanie Babst, Deputy Assistant Secretary General of Public Diplomacy Division, and Joi Ito, Head of the MIT Media Lab and well-known media entrepreneur, discussed some of the core issues raised by Ramo.
Over the past decade, the mediums and opportunities for populations to talk to their governments have changed drastically, from online platforms such as WE-NATO, to Facebook and Twitter.
Ramo asks: "This age, what does it demand of me?" In their discussion, Stefanie and Joi will address this question as it relates to the role of social media in promoting change in global institutions and governance. With fast paced change comes many challenges that the world has not seen previously.
Stefanie and Joi will tackle how we can overcome these challenges in this new technological age. NATO Homepage: http://www.nato.int
