The University at Buffalo (UB) has embraced Universal Design Yoga, a technique that focuses on the participation of all students in an environment that is welcoming, safe, and comfortable. The Universal Design Yoga model draws on the concepts of universal design including equitable use, flexibility in use, simple and intuitive use, perceptible information, tolerance for error, low physical effort, and size and space for approach of use (Bowe, 2001), as well as a universal or open approach to utilizing various traditions of yoga.
